We are pleased to share the NYS Alliance Guide as a reference and follow up to our Circle of Support quarterly meeting in June addressing the importance of Advocacy.
This Guide to Advocacy provides helpful information on New York State government structures, contacts in the Executive and Legislative branches of government, key terminology, legislative and State Budget processes and procedures, how to communicate with legislators and other information. The guide is intended to be a resource for people new to the advocacy world and a reference for those who have been successfully advocating for years.
The guide is also available on the ISS website – ISSNY.org – under the “resources” tab.
We hope you find this tool to be helpful to you as you advocate on behalf of New York’s disabilities sector.
